OZZY ON THE MEND!

And the star's got a UK Number One single to cheer him up...

OZZY ON THE MEND!
Ozzy Osbourne is "progressing well, but slowly", as doctors continue with efforts to wean him off a ventilator, following his quad bike crash.

Doctors at Slough's Wexham Park Hospital, where the rocker has been in intensive care, say it is still too early for the him to breathe fully unaided.

Dick Jack, the hospital's medical director, said; "With each day he becomes less dependent on the ventilator. It is still too early to take him off entirely. Otherwise he is well, with no complications."

As previously reported on NME.COM, Ozzy Osbourne broke eight ribs, his collarbone and cracked a vertebra in his neck when he crashed his quad-bike on his Buckinghamshire estate on Monday (December 8). He was taken to the nearby Wexham Park Hospital where he had emergency surgery to correct the collarbone and fix damaged blood vessels.

Ozzy Osbourne's accident has also mobilised the sympathy vote and pushed him to Number One on the UK singles chart yesterday (December 14).

‘Changes’, the duet he has recorded with daughter Kelly, has gone straight to the top and pushed Will Young to Number Two. It leaves Ozzy Osbourne in with a chance of an unlikely Christmas Number One next week.
