'Ozzy Osbourne will outlive me' says son Jack Osbourne

Black Sabbath legend's son impressed by his father's apparent immortality

Jack Osbourne has joked that his father, Ozzy Osbourne, is so indestructible that he will "outlive me".

In an interview with Star magazine, the Black Sabbath legend's son claimed that after seeing the singer escaping several near-death scrapes, he wouldn't be surprised if he lived until he was 900 years old.

Osbourne, who is reportedly planning on using the music of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath in a new horror movie he's helming, said:

Motorbikes can't kill him, drugs can't kill him. He's one of those guys who's going to be like, 900 years old, and still complaining about everything and laughing. We joke that he is going to outlive me.

Earlier this year, Ozzy claimed that he "should have died a 100 times and never did" during height of his battle with drugs and alcohol.

As previously reported, Black Sabbath are set to make a special announcement this week.

The four original members of the band – Osbourne, Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will all be in attendance at the press conference, which will take place on Friday November 11 at 11.11am (PST) in Los Angeles.

They formed in Birmingham in 1968, but Osbourne was fired in 1979 because of his drug and alcohol addiction and replaced by the late Ronnie James Dio.

The original line-up reunited in 1997 to headline the Ozzfest festival and released the live album 'Reunion' in 1998. The band also entered a recording studio with producer Rick Rubin in 2001, but the sessions came to an end with no material seeing the light of day. They headlined Ozzfest again in 2004/2005.

The original line-up have been inactive since, but in 2006 were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
