The rapper is accused of rowing over a woman

P. Diddy is being investigated for allegedly punching a man during an argument at a trendy New York club this weekend.

The NYPD is looking into the accusation from a man present at the SoHo club on Saturday (October 13) night.

According to the man, he and Diddy were arguing over a woman when the rapper punched him in the face.

Officials are trying to locate witnesses before questioning Diddy, real name Sean Combs, reports the Associated Press.

Diddy's attorney issued a statement denying the accusations.

"We hope this matter will be resolved without the filing of any criminal charges as it was a disagreement among acquaintances, not a criminal assault," Benjamin Brafman said in the statement.
