The LA Times retracts article following apology

The Los Angeles Times has officially retracted an article it published last month which implied that P. Diddy was involved in an incident in 1994 in which the late rapper was shot.

The newspaper issued an apology after it acknowledged that documents that the article had been based on had been forged. Newspaper staff were unaware of the forgery at the time of using them as a source.

The LA Times said it wanted to make the official retraction to "correct that misimpression" that P. Diddy had been involved in the shooting, reports BBC News.

The shooting was a separate incident from the shooting incident that occurred in 1996 in Los Angeles which proved fatal for Shakur.
