P Diddy to receive weapons training for 'Hawaii Five-O' role

Rapper signs up to star in episode of the cop show

P Diddy is to undergo weapons training as he prepares to play a detective on US cop drama Hawaii Five-O.

The Diddy-Dirty Money rapper, currently promoting new album 'Coming Home', will star in an episode of the recently revived show, set to air next month.

Diddy will play a New York detective called Reggie Williams, who goes to the Hawaii capital Honolulu to exact revenge on criminals who have wronged his family, reports MTV News.

The rap mogul will undertake weapons training and spend time working with a Navy SEAL in preparation for the role.

The episode will feature a number of songs from 'Coming Home'.

Hawaii Five-O originally ran from 1968 to 1980 on US cable channel CBS. It was recommissioned last year and began running again in September on the same channel. The episode that Diddy features in will air on February 6 in the UK on Sky One.
