Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix has revealed that the band are about to begin work on the 'album of their career'.

The Californian rock act will follow 2010's 'Time For Annihillation… On The Record and On The Road' with their eighth album, which they have been preparing for by listening to everything from metal to reggae. Shaddix said the band are:

…Opening their minds and listening to a broad range of music from metal to electronic to reggae and soaking up all the inspiration.

Shaddix also added that the new album will be "aggressive and uplifting" as well as "out of the norm" and different to their previous, nu-metal skewed work.

James Michael, who fronts Sixx: AM with Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx, will be producing the album. The album is set for release in late 2012.

Papa Roach released their breakthrough album 'Infest' in 2000. It has sold over seven million copies globally.
