Paramore oust Madonna from top of UK albums chart Paramore Tickets

The band's 'Brand New Eyes' goes straight in at Number One

Paramore have knocked Madonna off the top of the UK albums chart tonight (October 4).

The five-piece US outfit's third LP 'Brand New Eyes' has gone straight to the top, knocking the pop queen's new compilation 'Celebration' down to Two.

There are other Top Ten entries for Newton Faulkner, Barbra Streisand and recent NME cover star Ian Brown.

In the singles stakes Taio Cruz held on to the top spot with 'Break Your Heart'. Jay-Z again features in the little-changing Top Ten twice, with 'Empire State Of Mind', his song with Alicia Keys, up one place at Two and 'Run This Town' down one at Six.

Dizzee Rascal stays in the Top Ten - but while former Number One 'Holiday' has dropped out, it has been replaced by a new entry, 'Dirtee Cash', at Ten.

The UK Top Ten singles are:
