A plagiarism lawsuit brought against Paramore over their 2010 single 'The Only Exception' has been dropped.

The lawsuit had been brought by a Florida rock band called Tenspoke Indies, who had accused the pop punkers of stealing portions of their track 'Starlighter'.

In the original suit, Tenspoke Indies demanded damages over "copyright infringement", alleging that the track was similar in its "introductions, arrangements, chord progression, key, melody, lyrical theme, rhythm and tempo" to 'Starlighter'.

However, Paramore have now revealed on their official website Paramore.net that the lawsuit has been dropped.

They wrote on their official blog Paramore.net: "We'd like to let Paramore fans know that yesterday the frivolous lawsuit claiming Paramore plagiarized another band's work regarding 'The Only Exception' was officially dropped. There was never a doubt in our minds that the case would go any further, as this song, which Paramore wrote every note of, is very personal to them and one they are extremely proud of."

The band are currently working on their fourth studio album and recently revealed that they have been trying out producers for the recording of the follow-up to 'Brand New Eyes'.

Paramore will play this summer's Reading And Leeds Festivals, playing beneath headliners The Cure on August 24 in Reading and on August 25 in Leeds.
