Rockers Paramore have cited Dutch Uncles, Alt-J and Frank Ocean as influences on their forthcoming self-titled fourth album.
When asked what artists inspired 'Paramore', Guitarist Taylor York told In: Demand "I always like the weird bands. There's a band called Dutch Uncles that I was really into and Alt-J was a big one for me and I was listening to that Frank Ocean record a lot. I'm kind of really ADD when it comes to music so I was all over the place, honestly. But those were some highlights."
Speaking about the album itself, singer Hayley Williams said that naming the album 'Paramore' reflected where ther band are all at in their personal lives. "This album is about reintroducing ourselves to not only our fans but to ourselves," she said. "We've really become quite a different band and quite different people over the last couple of years, just having the time to grow up and figure out the skin that we're in, figure out the life that we're living away from the stage and away from the crowds. That was a big journey for us. And then to be writing and making our fourth album it just felt like we were coming into our own a little bit. We're really excited about the place that we're in as a band and we really wanted to show that excitement…"
Last month, the band unveiled 'Now', the first single from the album which you can hear below. Paramore had previously released a trailer for the album – released April 8 - which shows the group writing and recording together with audio clips of new material.
The 'Paramore' tracklisting is as follows:
