'Found footage' horror threequel gets the green light
Paramount Pictures have confirmed that a third Paranormal Activity film is to be made.
Series producer and director Oren Pell has confirmed the release date as October 21 next year, reports Bloody Disgusting
The two ‘found footage’ horror movies in the series to date have been incredibly successful. The first film, released in 2009, has grossed $193 million (£120 million) worldwide while the second, released last year, grossed $156 million (£97 million).
Last year Paranormal Activity 2 broke the record for the biggest-ever midnight gross for an R-rated movie with $6.3 million (£3.8 million), beating 2009’s Watchmen, which grossed $4.6 million (£2.9 million).
