Passion Pit dedicate Glastonbury set to Jarvis Cocker
Fans flock to John Peel Stage to see US band
Passion Pit dedicated their set at Glastonbury tonight (June 27) to headliner Jarvis Cocker, who plays the same stage later this evening.
The Cambridge, Massachusetts band drew a sizeable crowd, and treated fans to a set that focused on their recently-released debut album 'Manners'.
Kicking off with fan favourite 'Make Better', the five-piece confidently showed a packed crowd why they have been so revered among critics this year.
Singer Michael Angelakos made reference to the fact that it was the band's first time at Glastonbury before playing an amped-up version of 'Let Your Love Grow Tall', and was in exuberant mood throughout the set.
'Little Secrets' got one of the biggest cheers of the night, while 'Folds In Your Hands' also drew an impassioned response from the crowd.
One of the biggest singalongs of the set came when the group played their 2008 single 'Sleepyhead'.
The band geed up the enthusiastic crowd even more when they introduced closer 'The Reeling', and dedicated the track to Cocker.
The song saw much of the crowd clapping along in time with the band and, midway through the track, Angelakos paid tribute to the crowd and festival by screaming Glastonbury into his microphone as he danced around the stage.
Passion Pit played:
'Better Things'
'Make Light'
'Let Your Love Grow Tall'
'I've Got Your Number'
'Little Secrets'
'Folds In Your Hands'
'Moths Wings'
'Sleepyhead'
'Smile Upon Me Play'
'The Reeling'
