Legend returns for last CBGBs show

Patti Smith is set to play the last New York CBGB’s gig on October 15.

Smith was part of the late 70s scene that cemented the venue's iconic reputation.

Following the show, CBGBs is due to relocate to Las Vegas, and expected to open in 2008.

As previously reported, the club is moving due to rising rent costs.

Founder Hilly Kristal said: “I am taking the bars with me, I am taking the stage - I’m taking the urinal that Joey (Ramone) pissed in with me. I’m going to take a lot of things- anything that makes this place CBGBs.”

Tickets for the show are set to go on sale on Sunday (October 1). See Cbgb.com/ for more information.
