Patti Smith reveals all about new covers album
The star-studded effort is out in April
Patti Smith has titled her new covers record ‘Twelve’.
As previously revealed on NME.COM, the punk icon has covered Nirvana, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix on the album, due out on April 19.
Songs confirmed to appear are Tears For Fears’ ‘Everybody Wants To Rule the World’, Stevie Wonder’s ‘Pastime Paradise’ and Neil Young’s ‘Helpless’.
The album will feature appearances from Television’s Tom Verlaine, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea and the Black Crowes' Richard Robinson.
Smith has been chosen for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March, alongside REM, The Ronettes, Van Halen and Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five. The ceremony takes place at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on March 12.
