New Brooklyn venue adds new show for opening month

Bonde De Role, Vampire Weekend and The Black Lips are all on the schedule at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, a soon-to-be-opened venue in Brooklyn.

Patti Smith is set to play the opening night of the venue on September 4, followed by shows later that month from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Fujiya & Miyagi and The Walkmen.

The new venue follows the closure of several New York City and Brooklyn venues including CBGBs and Tonic. The Music Hall of Wiliamsburg will take over the space formerly occupied by shuttered venue Northsix.

The schedule is:

Patti Smith and Her Band (4)
Joseph Arthur & The Lonely Astronauts (7)
Vampire Weekend (8)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (September 10)
The Walkmen (14)
Bonde Do Role (15)
The Black Lips (19)
Les Savy Fav (21)
Medeski, Martin & Wood (27)
Fujiya & Miyagi (28)
Jose Gonzalez (29)
High On Fire (October 3)
Sunset Rubdown (8)
BORIS & Damon and Naomi (9)
