Patti Smith to perform free LA show
The punk legend will play at the Santa Monica Pier in August
Patti Smith is set to play a free show in Los Angeles on August 16.
The punk icon will perform as part of the Santa Monica Pier's Twilight Dance series, which features a free, festival-style concert on the pier every Thursday night during the summer.
A raffle at the show will benefit Heal The Bay, a charity dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters safe and healthy for people and marine life.
Smith is currently in the midst of a tour in support of her recent album, 'Twelve'.
She's also set to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 4.
