The ex-Beatle hits out at EMI

Sir Paul McCartney has hit out at his former label EMI.

The ex-Beatle, who is now signed to Starbucks' record label Hear Music, criticised the machinations of the record company.

He said: “Everybody at EMI had become part of the furniture. I’d be a couch. Coldplay are an armchair.

Robbie Williams - I dread to think what he was. I could guess what they [the label] were going to say. ‘Love your record Paul’. And I’d say, ‘Well what should we do with it?’

“Then they’d go, ‘Well, we think you ought to go to Cologne’, which is what they always say.

“You go somewhere, speak to a million journalists for one day and you get all the same questions. So I started saying: ‘God, we’ve got to do something else'.”

McCartney went onto say that during his time at the label he was keen to release material quickly but was told by EMI bosses that a period of at least six months was needed to market his music, reports BBC news.

He said: “Couldn’t some bright people do that in two days? Look boys, I’m sorry I’m digging a new furrow.”

He's saying the same thing Radiohead have been saying for ages. EMI suck! Surely everyone knows this by now. Guy Hands and Terra Firma are destroying music! boooooo!

He's boring, so I suppose it makes sense that he was signed to a boring label!

100 % agree with Macca.
He must release when he wants.
