Yoko Ono to attend Paul McCartney's Liverpool gig

John Lennon's widow says she'll be in the stands for homecoming

Yoko Ono has revealed she plans to attend Sir Paul McCartney's gig in Liverpool tonight (June 1).

The former Beatle is playing the city's Anfield stadium as part of the Capital Of Culture celebrations.

John Lennon's widow, who had been visiting Liverpool, told BBC News: "Of course I am going to be there. I'm looking forward to it. It's a very special weekend."

As previously reported, Kaiser Chiefs and The Zutons are also on the bill, and Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl is expected to make an appearance during McCartney's set.
