Paul McCartney is set to play a benefit concert this summer in an effort to save a historic park in Atlanta.
The former Beatle is scheduled to perform on August 15 at Piedmont Park on behalf of the Piedmont Conservancy, which cares for the park.
The event is expected to attract thousands of fans. Previous shows in the park by the Dave Matthews Band and the Allman Brothers Band attracted approximately 50,000.
Proceeds from the concert will be used to maintain and expand the massive park, which was founded in 1887.
