New Bohemians Jeffrey Carter Albrecht mistaken for burglar
Jeffrey Carter Albrecht, keyboardist in Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, died early yesterday morning (September 3) after being fatally shot.
According to reports Albrecht was at his girlfriend’s house in Dallas, Texas, and around 4am went to her next door neighbour and knocked on the door.
When he did not get a response, Albrecht reportedly became persistent and was shot when the neighbour apparently believed a burglar was trying to break in says the Associated Press.
Albrecht was a member of the New Bohemians since 1999, and had also performed on several occasions with Brickell’s husand Paul Simon. He also played keyboard and guitar and sang in the Dallas rock band Sorta.
