Singer will play an advisory role at famed music school

Paul Simon appointed to Berklee College board

Paul Simon has been appointed to the Music Board of Trustees at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, it was announced yesterday (December 17).

The famed singer has an honorary doctorate from the renowned music school, as well as two scholarships in his name.

The college issued a statement saying that Simon "looks forward to more interactions with students and faculty" in his role as a board member.

Actor Christopher Guest was named to the board as well.

Berklee College of Music, founded in 1945, is an independent music school with an enrollment of approximately 4,000 students.
