And the Modfather is joined by a special guest

Paul Weller was joined by Ocean Colour Scene guitarist and friend Steve Cradock for an intimate acoustic show this afternoon (February 13) as a warm-up to his forthcoming Brit Awards appearance.

The pair performed a short 30 minute set to a select crowd of around 50 people at Gibson Guitar Studios in London for Virgin Radio.

Weller laced an eight song set with tracks from his latest album 'As Is Now' before wowing the crowd with rousing renditions of 'That's Entertainment' and Stanley Road classic 'You Do Something To Me'.

Arriving onstage the Modfather was greeted to massive cheers before a member of the crowd joked: "Will you be playing any James Blunt Paul?".

The former JAM frontman was in high spirits throughout the set joking with the audience and even inviting members to come up on stage when they shouted out requests near the end.

As he launched into Wild Wood track 'Foot Of The Mountain', the room was filled with chants of Weller!Weller! before he laughed and thanked the crowd for their support.

The gig will be broadcast live on Virgin Radio alongside an exclusive backstage interview tomorrow night (February 14) on Ben Jones' Most Wanted, at 7pm.

The day after the singer will be honoured with The Outstanding Contribution To British Music Award at the 2006 Brits ceremony at London's Earl's Court on February 15.

He played:

'All On A Misty Morning'

'Savages'

'Early Morning Rain'

'Foot Of The Mountain'

'The Start Of Forever'

'Come On/Let's Go'

'That's Entertainment'

'You Do Something To Me'
