Pink Floyd aid Gibson in charity bid

Paul Weller is among a group of musicians contributing an artwork to Gibson Guitar's current charity campaign.

The Modfather is one of the musicians who has signed one of several ten foot tall free standing fibreglass Les Paul guitar sculptures.

Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson and Queen’s Brian May have also signed the sculptures.

In a statement, Weller said: "I am proud to be associated with the Gibson Guitar Town London campaign as it combines my passion and appreciation for the guitar, whilst raising money and awareness for three very worthy and deserving charities."

The artworks will be auctioned off at the end of September, with money going to The Prince’s Trust, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Beforehand, the sculptures will be displayed in London from June 1 at HMS Belfast.
