FROM DADROCK GOD TO HOUSEWIVES' FAVE!
The Modfather to be the subject of major radio documentary on Radio 2...
'Paul Weller: In The Studio' follows the Modfather over a two year period, through the entire recording process of his new album 'Heliocentric', which is released through Independiente in April.
It also gives a retrospective of Weller's previous career in The Jam and The Style Council and alongside interviews with Weller, the documentary features interviews with long time drummer Steve White, album producer Brendan Lynch, studio engineer Max Hayes and orchestral arranger Robert Kirby.
David Barker, producer of the show told nme.com: "What is different about this documentary is you hear how songs change from original demos through to the final track. Paul gave us permission to air demos of three tracks, 'He's The Keeper', 'There Is No Drinking After You're Dead' and a ballad called 'Frightened' which he did on the piano. It is a real insight to see how Paul works as a songwriter with other musicians."
The documentary is aired on April 1 at 7.30pm.
Paul Weller has also announced his first UK tour in two years which calls at: Bridlington Spa Pavilion (April 21), Preston Guildhall (22), Leicester De Montford Hall (23), Reading Rivermead (25), Plymouth Pavillions (26), Bristol Colston Hall (27), Guildford Civic Hall (29), London Royal Albert Hall (May 2), Nottingham Arena (5), Manchester Apollo (6), Aston Villa Leisure Centre (9), Glasgow Barrowlands (12), Edinburgh Playhouse (14) Braintree Towerlands (17), Bournemouth International Centre (18) and Cardiff Arena (19). Support will come from Toploader and Aziz across the dates.
