Paul Weller to perform Record Store Day instore in London

Paul Weller has announced that he will be playing an instore in London for Record Store Day.

The Modfather will play Rough Trade East on Saturday, April 20 at 8pm as part of the celebrations for the annual event, which will see a raft of special releases and rare tracks made available in over 200 record stores across the UK.

Pete O’Hanlon and Josh McClorey from huch-hyped Irish newcomers The Strypes will play on bass and guitar respectively. Jay Sharrock from Miles Kane’s band will play drums. Only 250 wristbands will be available for the gig – which will be dished out from Rough Trade East in London from 8am on Tuesday, April 16.

Weller will be releasing two brand new tracks for Record Store Day – titled 'Flame-Out!' and 'The Olde Original' - as a double A-side single. Listen to snippets from each of the tracks below.

Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Pulp, Biffy Clyro, The xx, Bat For Lashes and a host of other names are also set to put out special releases for the event. Pick up a copy of this week's NME, which will his newsstands tomorrow (April 17) and will also be available digitally for a full list.
