PAUL WELLER is planning to release an acoustic live album later in the year, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.
Weller has been touring Europe solo for much of this year, performing material from his recent back catalogue, as well as his songs from his days in The Jam and the Style Council.
A spokesperson for the star told NME.COM this afternoon (July 3) that every show on the tour has been recorded, and during breaks in recording Weller has been going through the songs, to pick out the definitive versions which will feature on the album.
It is expected that the as-yet-untitled record will feature approximately 18 tracks, although a tracklisting is unconfirmed. The record is scheduled to be released in September.
Weller brought his acoustic tour to London Shepherd's Bush Empire last night (July 2), and was joined by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher for a version of The Jam's 'That's Entertainment'.
Weller was also joined by Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Cradock for number of songs, including 'A Town Called Malice'. The rest of Weller's set was comprised of songs including 'English Rose', 'You Do Something To Me', 'Wild Wood' and 'Above The Clouds'.
Weller is also planning to release a new studio album next year.
