Pavement reform: it's official

US band announce first comeback show will take place next year

Pavement reform: it's official

Pavement have ended the speculation and officially confirmed that they are reforming.

The band will play their first gig together in over a decade at the Rumsey Playfield in New York's Central Park on September 21, 2010.

Tickets for the event will go on sale tomorrow (September 18) at 10am (EDT) via Ticketmaster.com. A password of ZOWEE is required to access the presale.

Mark Ibold, Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West will all be taking part in the reformation.

The band have indicated they will be playing "dates" as part of their reunion, however Pavement have stated that they "would like it to be known that the tour does not constitute a full-on permanent reformation".
