'Light Years' is the second track to be taken from the 'Binaural' album...

Pearl Jam are to release a second single from their album 'BINAURAL'. 'LIGHT YEARS' will be released on July 3 through EPIC.

The song's lyrics, penned by singer Eddie Vedder, lament the death of a close friend. Vedder, Mike McCready and Stone Gossard wrote the music together.

The single will be backed with exclusive live versions of 'Soon Forget' and 'Grievance', recorded at their first show of the new millennium at Mount Baker Theatre, Bellingham, Washington.

As previously reported on, Pearl Jam - who recently completed a six-date tour of the UK, their first for three years - declared war on bootleggers by vowing to release each of the 26 shows on their current tour on separate live albums.
