Eddie Vedder writes song for baseball team

'All The Way' pays tribute to Chicago Cubs

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has written a song for the Chicago Cubs baseball team, and the track will soon be available for download according to the band’s website.

Vedder performed the track entitled ‘All The Way’ during a solo performance in Chicago last month, and the song is apparently already being played in local sports bars and on radio stations in the city.

According to rollingstone.com, Cubs player Ernie Banks reportedly asked Vedder to write the song as the team embark on a journey to try to win their first World Series since 1908.

Vedder has been busy performing lately, with both solo and Pearl Jam shows over this summer. He has forged a successful solo career, which includes his contribution to the soundtrack of the Sean Penn-directed ‘Into The Wild’.
