Eddie Vedder: 'Kurt Cobain would like me if he was still alive'

He's also collecting rare snaps of Kings Of Leon and Johnny Ramone

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder has said he imagines Kurt Cobain would think he "turned out OK" if he were still alive today, despite the Nirvana frontman lambasting the band throughout their career.

Cobain famously slated Pearl Jam for "Pioneering a corporate, alternative and cock-rock fusion", though the two frontmen did reconcile privately before Cobain's death in 1994.

Speaking to The Sun, Vedder said that although he and Cobain didn't see eye-to-eye, he hoped the iconic frontman would have still been his friend.

"If Kurt were around today, I know he'd say to me, 'Well, you turned out OK,'" he said.

Vedder also revealed that Pearl Jam's rehearsal space is a shrine to rock and roll, containing Johnny Ramone's baseball card and photo collection, alongside personal snaps of Kings Of Leon playing the game dressed in full regalia.

I used to tow the 'Kurt line' on Pearl Jam as well - until I heard more stuff & actually formed my own opinion!!I'm sure if KC were alive he'd expect people to think for themselves too

Pearl Jam shunned the media spotlight choosing instead to do things the way they wanted to and have evolved way beyond the 'grunge' cliches that made them famous while still retaining a large fanbase. Surely Kurt would have respected that.

Vedder; if your granny had balls, she'd be your granda...if Cobain was still alive I reckon he'd have grown a set of purple lamb chops took part in celeb come dine with me and had a fling with Vanessa Feltz in a remote village in Turkey ...who cares what KC would think now? Wasn't this over fascination, over hype something to do with why he killed himself? ..he's dead, let it be.

If Kurt Cobain was still alive today, I question whether anyone would care what he thought about anything. There's no coming back from marrying Courtney Love.

I question whether or not people care what you think about anything. He married Courtney then Nirvana released In Utero, had a great tour, and recorded Unplugged In New York. So your wrong.

Never heard any Pearl Jam song in my all (allegedly long) life! I did better than Kurt, apparently...
