Pearl Jam bassist mugged

Jeff Ament is attacked by masked men

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament was mugged recently outside an Atlanta recording studio where the band are working on their new album.

Ament and another man identified as Mark Anthony Smith had pulled up in a jeep to the Southern Tracks recording studio when three masked men came out of the woods and attacked them, reports the Associated Press.

Police said that the men smashed the jeep's windows and stole a Blackberry and two computers. They also demanded money. When Ament tried to run, the muggers reportedly knocked him to the ground and stole his passport. He was later treated by paramedics for head injuries.

The masked men ended up getting away with $3,000 in cash as well as computers and other equipment worth approximately $4,000. The incident was captured on video by surveillance cameras, but no one has yet been arrested.
