Pearl Jam fan gets head shaved during gig – watch

Audience member offered to let Eddie Vedder shave off his dreadlocks if band played 'Brain Of J'

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder shaved off a fan's dreadlocks after taking a song request during the band's gig in the US last weekend. See above for footage.

The grunge band were performing in Spokane on Saturday night (November 30) when Vedder spotted a fan holding up a sign offering to undergo the makeover if Peal Jam played 'Brain Of J', from their album 'Yield', during the gig. The fan was brought on stage and the song was duly played, fulfilling his request to headbang one last time before losing his hair.

The YouTube footage shows Vedder begin to shave the hair during 'Brain Of J' before returning after the song has ended.

Last month Sleater-Kinney reunited on stage for the first time in seven years at Pearl Jam's gig in Portland. Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss (along with REM's Peter Buck) joined the band onstage at their Moda Center concert where they covered Neil Young's 'Rockin' In The Free World'.

Pearl Jam released their latest studio album 'Lightning Bolt' in October of this year.
