Satellite Party begin four-night residency on Carson Daly

Satellite Party have announced that they will play a week-long residency on the US late-night television show, 'Last Call With Carson Daly', beginning tonight (June 11).

Perry Farrell's band will play songs off of their new album, 'Ultra Payloaded', which was released in the US last month.

The band discussed their experience taping the show on their blog. They wrote: "Carson Daly cares about music…they say he gets the best bands. We played four night's worth of songs for him…Andy Dick ran out into the hallway with his foul mouth. We laughed for 5 minutes."

The band added: "Just about to jump off stage when (guitarist) Nuno (Bettencourt) ripped into (Jane's Addiction song) 'Stop!'

"The producer didn't know how to react- we just fell into it-when Nuno's guitar went out... I thought they pulled the plug but it was Nuno who pulled his own cord out accidentally! He got down and jammed it back into his chorus pedal and we all laughed and soared through to the end. I hope they add that performance on another day."

The programme airs in the US on NBC at 1:35 am (12:35 am Central).
