Babyshambles man moved in jail after inmates planned to attack him

Pete Doherty has been moved to a segregated area of Wormwood Scubs prison after inmates had plotted to attack him.

According to Sky News, Doherty was informed about plans by inmates to assault him, and so asked to be segregated. He is currently in a unit with 15 other inmates.

A prison source explained that Doherty was in the unit for his own safety, and had been strip-searched before being placed in there.

"He was quiet," the source said of the Doherty's behaviour during the search. "He was calm. But he did seem pale – like Casper the ghost."

Shut up you moron!! Pete Doherty has been made an example of and if he is being wrongly locked up he should be in a segregated area! why does he deserve attacking for having an illness?? Drug takers dont deserve prison, prison should be for people who are a danger to society, people who drink 10 pints and go and kick the shit out of random people on a saturday night. Pete doherty is a gentle soul, we should be helping him not putting him at risk! Stay strong pete xx

Yeh it's supposed to be punishment not the fucking death sentence though you dick. If you think he should be left to to be beaten to a pulp then i'm sorry but as a person you are a disgrace to human kind. Fuck off and read the sun.

lol, I don't really listen to Pete's stuff anymore HOWEVER, in his defence is it ridiculous to think getting his head kicked in is a good idea of punishment. someone said above he shouldn't be locked up, well I agree to a certain extent with the drug taking but his laziness to attend warrants punishment. although I'll say again, not a beating

in response to sam.albion..."Drug takers dont deserve prison, prison should be for people who are a danger to society"drug takers are a danger to society, thats why taking drugs and dealing are against the law.

Drug takers dont deserve prison! dealers yes but not takers! Why the hell couldnt he be sent to a secure rehab clinic for 3 months instead of a place riddled with drugs! the government need to look at this flaw in our justice system! If their arnt any clinics that you can be sent to by a judge until you are clean then their should be.. Build them instead of more prisons..

I fully agree that he does not deserve to be attacked, however to say he doesn't deserve to be jailed is ridiculous. He broke the law, and was even given a chance to avoid jail time, only to break his probation terms. I am a huge fan of Pete Dhoerty's music, but as a person he is a complete muppet. Drug addiction is not an illness, it's a choice to take drugs, addiction is a result of the stupid choice to begin with. Cancer, aids... These are illnesses! Pete has an unbelievable talent but he is wasting it.

aaawh pete! i feel so sorry for you! you shouldn't be in prison in the first place and now you are being assulted it makes things even worse! all you people who think he deserves to be (and i know a few) are just dumb asses =P going to prison won't help him and however he is he will always be my hero! good luck pete, i love you! xXxXx

sam.albion has hit the nail on the head. he has every right to be moved out of a dangerous wing of the jail, he's probably in there with the people serving for assault and violent behavior; he takes drugs, yes it's frowned upon by the community, but the answer isn't to kick his head in. I think too many people watch Prison Break and Oz, hence why we're all do 'bash and slash him' happy.

"Why the hell couldnt he be sent to a secure rehab clinic for 3 months instead of a place riddled with drugs!"Because we all know that Doherty comes out of rehab clean and well and never does drugs again afterwards... Yeah

I'll be honest, i am not a big fan of The Libertines etc and not a fan of Pete's music, but having a younger brother who has been a smack addict for 13 yrs and who has served Her Majesty a fair few times for shoplifting to buy his hits, i feel sorry for Pete and hope he makes a speedy recovery. My brother says it is easy to get hold of stuff in the nick, so i hope he has no access to it. Hold your head up Pete, it'll be alright son.

He shouldn't be in prison, prison should be for those that harm others, taking drugs only harms oneself and therefore its a waste of space putting pete in there when we have an already overcrowded penal system.

I am a recovering smack addict and i play in a band. it is real hard to stay away from drugs in the music industry but it can be done. I always had a job and payed for my drugs so i never ended up in the nick. pete is his own person, he make's a good living from his amazing talent, if he chooses to take drugs with the money he makes leave him alone to do so. The only person he is harming is his himself. Prison is the total wrong place to put him. Stick in there pete! people like you keep rock'n'roll alive
