Pete Doherty covers Talking Heads at Glastonbury - video

Former Libertine joined by a host of special guests

Pete Doherty covered legendary New York band Talking Heads during his Other Stage gig at Glastonbury this afternoon (June 27).

Coming onstage wearing a gold and black military jacket, Doherty headbutted his microphone and waved to the massive crowd, who cheered him back heartily.

Opening song 'The Last Of The English Roses' saw the singer/guitarist joined by two ballerinas, along with his band (featuring Babyshambles' Drew McConnell and Adam Ficek, producer Stephen Street and a three-piece string section).

Doherty got a huge reaction from the crowd when he launched into 2003 hit 'For Lovers' - it being the first time he has played the track live backed by a string section.

Breaking from Libertines track 'Music When The Lights Go Out', he played an impromptu cover of Talking Heads' 'Psycho Killer'.

However, the star was left red-faced when he forgot the words to the song, much to his and the audience's amusement.

"I'm fucked if I know the second verse," he said at one point.

John 'Bandit', formerly of The Bandits, came onstage to perform 'I Am The Rain', which the duo co-wrote for Doherty's solo album 'Grace/Wastelands'.

Singer Dot Alison joined the star for a version of 'Sheepskin Tearaway'.

Doherty ended his set by playing a double whammy of Babyshambles song 'Albion' and an electrified version of The Libertines' 2002 single 'Time For Heroes'.

Despite leaving the stage after the song, many fans began singing Babyshambles' 'I Wish' and chanting "We want more!".

However, the singer did not return.

Pete Doherty played:

'The Last Of The English Roses'
'A Little Death Around The Eyes'
'Salome'
'For Lovers'
'Palace Of Bone'
'Music When The Lights Go Out'
'Psycho Killer'
'I Am The Rain'
'Sheepskin Tearaway'
'Broken Love Song'
'Albion'
'Time For Heroes'

More haters that refuse to see past the drugs, shame if you would care to listen with an open mind you may enjoy it. Also if you hate him so much why read the review. His is avery talented performer and songwriter, some just cant accept that.
