Pete Doherty has admitted being at the scene of an alleged burglary in Germany.

On Tuesday (March 8) morning in the city of Regensburg a woman reported three men acting suspiciously outside a closed record store – one of them then allegedly broke into it, and a guitar and various records were taken.

She identified the man as The Libertines' frontman Doherty, who has admitted being on the scene but denies any wrongdoing.

"I was there but it wasn't me," he told German TV station Sat 1.

German police told the Mittelbayerische Zeitung newspaper that there was a "famous suspect" in the case, and that he was due to be questioned.

Doherty is in Germany to film new movie Confession d'un Enfant du Siecle, which also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg.
