Pete Doherty has recorded a duet with an obscure French band called Dandies.

Doherty sings in French, apparently for the first time on record, on the band's new single 'L Comme Liaison'. Scroll down and click 'play' to watch the video, which Doherty doesn't appear in, and listen out for his vocals around the 1.06 mark.

Dandies posted a photo of themselves with Doherty on their Facebook page on March 17 as a "souvenir" from their recording session with the singer. The picture appears at the top of this article.

The band, virtually unknown in the UK, are a four-piece from the city of Le Mans, 130 miles east of Paris. On their website, they list Kings of Leon, The Kinks and Françoise Hardy as influences. Their collaboration with Doherty is taken from their debut album 'Illusion Et Imparfait', which has just been released.

Meanwhile, Doherty is currently working on his second solo album, the follow-up to 2009's 'Grace/Wastelands' . At present, he has one live date in the calendar: an appearance at the Blue Balls Festival in Switzerland on July 21.
