Phil Spector murder trial jury chosen

A jury has been chosen for the Phil Spector murder trial.

Nine men and three women have been sworn in. They were chosen from about 100 potential jurors, some of whom were dismissed after saying they already believed him to be guilty.

Six alternates will be selected when proceedings resume next week.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler told jurors the trial was likely to last two or three months.

The jury includes several employees of Los Angeles county, as well as a network TV producer who has covered high-profile criminal cases.

Opening statements are expected next week.

Spector denies shooting actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion in 2003, reports BBC News.
