Phil Spector trial: day four
Phil Spector
Another woman says producer threatened her with gun
The trial of famed music producer Phil Spector continued today (May 8) with the testimony of a female music executive.
Dianne Ogden was subpoenaed to testify at the trial, despite never officially reporting an incident in 1989 during which Spector threatened her with a rifle and pistol, and tried to rape her.
According to the Associated Press, Ogden said Spector ordered her up his bedroom by gunpoint and wanted to rape her.
Ogden said that Spector would occasionally send her birthday cards and flowers, but she ultimately broke contact with him after another incident at his house during which he threatened to kill her with an Uzi submachine gun when he tried to leave. She jumped in her car and escaped with Spector chasing after her.
The testimony follows an earlier one in which Spector’s ex-girlfriend Dorothy Melvin said he had threatened her with a gun when she tried to leave his home.
Spector is on trial for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. She died of a gunshot wound to the head.
