Phil Spector trial: Day 47

The Phil Spector murder trial entered its final stretch today, with jurors returning to the courtroom after visiting the producer's mansion last week where actress Lana Clarkson was killed.

Both sides were nearing the end of their arguments when trial resumed this morning (August 13) with Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson questioning defence expert James Plex about blood analysis in the case.

Jackson suggested that forensic analysis work is not as easy as it appears on television, to which Pex responded, "That's why I don't watch 'CSI'."

Meanwhile, Spector appeared in court without two of his lawyers, Bruce Cutler and Linda Kenney Baden. Cutler is taking time off to work on a television series, and Kenney Baden has been off ill for the past week, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Before wrapping up their case, prosecutors are expected to call another woman to the stand who will likely testify that Spector threatened her with a gun.

Spector is accused of murdering Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion on Febrary 3, 2003. The defence contends the actress' death was suicide.
