Phil Spector jurors continue deliberations

They ask judge for further guidance

The jurors in Phil Spector's trial reconvened today (September 24) to begin their third week of deliberations in the record producer's trial for murder.

Last week the jurors said that they had reached an impasse in delivering a verdict, but today they have asked Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler to clarify controversial instructions he issued last week to help break the deadlock.

Fidler considered the motion at a hearing where the jurors were not present, but has not yet indicated how he will rule in the matter, reports the Associated Press.

The jurors also sent out a request asking for a VCR. They did not specify how they would use it, but the only known piece of evidence on video is a tape of Spector's chauffer, Adriano DeSouza, testifying that Spector came out of his house carrying a gun and said: "I think I killed somebody."

Spector is accused of murdering Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion on February 3, 2003. The defence contends the actress' death was suicide.
