Jurors selected in Phil Spector retrial
Seven men and five women selected in Los Angeles
A jury has been chosen in Los Angeles for the murder retrial of music producer Phil Spector. Seven men and five women were selected today (October 23), with six alternate jurors yet to be chosen.
Opening statements in the retrial are due to begin next week, with the trial expected to go on for several months.
Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion on February 3, 2003.
After a five-month-long trial last year, the jury reached a 10-2 deadlock in favour of convicting Spector, which resulted in the judge declaring a mistrial.
