Phoenix have named their forthcoming new album 'Bankrupt!'.

The band made the announcement via their Facebook page.

The band also link to their website Wearephoenix.com, with a photosensitive epilepsy warning, as the site's homepage features a flashing image of the album title, along with a soundclip, thought to be taken from the follow-up to 2009's 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'.

The album title reveal comes after Phoenix announced their first live performance in over two years.

The French band will play Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals in Germany, which take place from July 7-9. Other acts confirmed for the bill include Green Day, The Killers and The Prodigy.

According to Rolling Stone, the band will release their new album in April after Daniel Glass – who is head of the band's record label Glassnote Records - mentioned the release date when addressing an event for Spotify at the end of last year.

The French alt-rockers released their debut album 'United' in 2000. This was followed up with 'Alphabetical' in 2004, 'It's Never Been Like That' in 2006 and 2009's 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'.
