Phoenix won the Grammy for Alternative Music Album for 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles tonight (January 31).

During his acceptance speech, singer Thomas Mars thanked his film-director girlfriend, Sofia Coppola. This is the first Grammy for the French rockers, who beat off competition from:

Death Cab For Cutie - 'The Open Door'
