Phoenix have had to cancel a number of European tour dates, due to problems with frontman Thomas Mars' voice.

The band cancelled last night's show in Lyon (November 14) and tonight's gig in Nantes (November 15), after doctors advised Mars not to sing. The band tweeted to say that if his voice gets better, then the band will resume their tour in Toulouse tomorrow night (November 16). The cancelled shows are set to be rescheduled.

Haim, who are currently supporting the band, tweeted a message of support to Mars, writing: "Really bummed these last 2 Phoenix shows were canceled. :( Sending Thomas lots of good vibes so his voice gets better! See you in Toulouse."

In September, Phoenix were also forced to cancel their appearance at London's iTunes festival, after frontman Thomas Mars fell ill. Phoenix will tour the UK in February 2014. The French rockers will play Glasgow, Manchester and London on the stretch, in support of their fifth album 'Bankrupt!', which was released in April.

Phoenix will play:

Glasgow Barrowland (February 10, 2014)
Manchester Academy (11)
London O2 Academy Brixton (12)
