Pink Floyd to repeat Live8 reunion?

Dave Gilmour not ruling out another one-off gig

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour has suggested the original members of the band could get together for another one-off gig in the future.

However, the singer and guitarist claimed that a full tour was unlikely.

Referring to continual rumours of a reunion, Gilmour told BBC 6Music: "Who knows? Who knows the future? I haven't absolutely said 'no' to the possibility but I think that in reality any sort of long-term thing together is not going to happen.

"We did the one-off thing and that was probably enough for me but we shall see. At my incredibly advantaged age - having achieved this - I've earned the right to sit on my ass for a little while and consider what to do next."

The four members of Pink Floyd's most famous incarnation - Roger Waters, currently touring his own version of the band's classic 1973 album 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', Nick Mason, Rick Wright and Gilmour - reunited for a one-off set at 2005's Live8 charity festival in London's Hyde Park.

Someone's seen the benefits following Led Zep's recent reforming just for one concert. Sold out tickets sales for the O2? Check.New Double CD Best Of Compilation to flog? Check.Oodles of people kissing your arse saying how great you are / once were across the entire media? Check. Am I being too cynical? I suppose Gilmore could being savy to the potential. It would be foolish to believe that some suits haven't tried to lure Pink Floyd onto the stage again. Or maybe he's waiting for the right over-inflated offer to be flung his way?

CinemaDan, Pink Floyrd don't need to sell anymore records, nor do they need the money at this stage in the game. If they were to reform it would be for the music only. I'd love to see them reform again. I know it wouldn't happen but it'd be brilliant if they performed DSOTM or Wish You Were Here in their entirety.
