Pink Floyd legend lends his name to Fender

David Gilmour launches signature Strat

Fender are launching a David Gilmour signature model Stratocaster guitar.

The guitar, called the 'Black Strat', will be available from September 22 and is based on the star's iconic instrument that helped create his band Pink Floyd's revolutionary sound.

David Gilmour said: "I told Fender that it was just an ordinary Strat that I bought, but I must say they’ve done a great job of recreating it."

The release of the guitar will coincide with the release of Gilmour's 3CD live album 'Live In Gdansk', recorded on his 2007 solo world tour.
