Pink to receive BMI President’s Award for Songwriting

The singer follows the likes of Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, Willie Nelson and Pitbull in receiving the award

Pop singer Pink is to be awarded by the BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) for her songwriting work.

Pink has written a number of her own hits, including ‘Just Like A Pill’ and ‘God Is A DJ’. She follows the likes of Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, Willie Nelson and Pitbull in receiving the BMI President’s Award for Songwriting.

“Pink is an extraordinary songwriter whose mastery of craft and passionate artistry has transformed a generation of Pop and Rock music culture around the world,” said BMI Vice President Barbara Cane of the news.

“She has captivated music lovers with her unforgettable, emotional and edgy magnificence of song, voice and performance.”

The award will be presented to Pink at the 63rd annual BMI Pop Awards, taking place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on May 12.

Pink released her latest album ‘The Truth About Love’ in 2012, it was her sixth studio effort. She released a collaborative album under the name You + Me with City and Colour‘s Dallas Green entitled ‘rose ave.’ in 2014.
