And the reformation rumours continue to grow...

Pixies are to release a new compilation CD and DVD in 2004 as rumours intensify they are to reform.

The band's manager Ken Goes has confirmed that their label 4AD are compiling "a very nice DVD" and a new 'best of' album to replace 1997's 'Death To The Pixies', Billboard reports.

The DVD will feature eight Pixies videos, a 1988 concert taped at London's Town And Country Club and the documentary 'Gouge', which features interviews with Radiohead's Thom Yorke, [a][/a] and Bono.

Goes added: "Finally, it'll include some off-stage stuff, sort of behind-the-scenes, on tour and in the studio; about 30 minutes or so. It'll be a great package for fans and a nice introduction for others."

Goes refused to comment on renewed speculation that the band may reform for some shows next year.
