Pixies releasing 'Doolittle' gigs as live albums Pixies Tickets

Albums available ten minutes after each show

Pixies are making the London, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris legs of their current 'Doolittle' tour available to buy as live albums.

Exactly 1,000 copies of each CD are being made – and are being made available to buy ten minutes after each show ends from Pixies.sandbag.uk.com, and in person after the gigs.

Some 500 USB wristbands are being made for each show too, also available online and after the gigs. As well as recordings of the gigs the USBs contain videos made for the tour. The live albums will also be available to download.

Live albums for the following gigs will be available:

London O2 Academy Brixton (October 6, 7, 8, 9)
Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall (13)
Brussels Forest National (14)
Paris Zenith (15, 16)

Pixies kicked off their 'Doolittle' London residency at the O2 Academy Brixton on October 6. They had started the European tour in Dublin on October 1.

Now that is milking it good and proper. Surely they can repay their fan's loyalty with some new material.

There is absolutely no need for them to ever record anything else unless they can find a way to improve upon perfection.

A lot of bands from my teenage years have decided to come back for the grey dollar...Pixies, MaryChain, MBV, dinasour JR et al. It's understandable in a way, as their music didn't reach a wide audience the first time around. On the other hand it must be frustrating when the balding fans of yesteryear only want to hear the "classics" , giving little attention to any new material. It'all about the pension plan im afraid...if John and George were still with us you know that by now we would be up to our balls in "sergeant Pepper" tours and such like.
