Pixies and Julian Casablancas have been added to the line-up for California's Coachella festival, which takes place over the next two weekends (April 12-14 and April 19-21).

The Strokes frontman will be playing the Mojave tent with his new band The Voidz at 5:05 PM on Saturday, and Pixies will play the same stage at 8:50 PM that evening. Pixies first reunited to play Coachella 10 years ago in 2004. The band release new album 'Indie Cindy' on April 28.

Coachella 2014 is headlined by OutKast, Muse and Arcade Fire. Also on the bill are Motorhead, Queens Of The Stone Age, Beck, Lana Del Rey, the Knife, Foster The People, Haim, Lorde, Disclosure, Skrillex, Nas, Kid Cudi, ASAP Ferg and Chance The Rapper.

It was yesterday reported that celebrities receive sponsorship from brands to be seen at the music festival, which takes place in Indio, California. Glee actress and solo singer Lea Michele will allegedly earn $20,000 (£11,900) from Lacoste to wear their clothes at the event.
